Learn 2 Fish With Us Skills Youth On Fishing During The Winnebago Walleye Series

On Sunday afternoon, June 25th, Captain Greg Karch, Winnebago Walleye Series and Learn 2 Fish With Us volunteers taught youth about the skills and equipment needed to begin fishing.  This event was held at Columbia Park which is located in Malone, Wisconsin.  The afternoon started out with Captain Greg presenting his Fishing Basics seminar where they learned; safety while fishing, spin cast and spinning fishing combos, simple fishing presentations, live and artificial bait, aquatic invasive species and so much more.  After the seminar, youth were split up into three groups where they attended fishing educational stations.  Station one youth learned how to cast safely and accurately. Station two, youth learned how to tie a Clinch and Palomar knot.  Station three was fish identification where youth learned how to identify the different fish from panfish to game fish.

This was Learn 2 Fish With Us second year partnering with the Winnebago Walleye Series, which has a fun time for the families the day of their fishing tourney.

Thanks to the National Professional Anglers Association, Future Angler Foundation, River Haus Bait and Tackle and Learn 2 Fish With Us each youth received a fishing combo, NPAA Future Pro shirt along with a fishing educational book.
