Winneconne Third Graders Enjoy A Day Of Learning And Fishing!!

May 8th, was a great day for sharing our passion for fishing with over one-hundred fifty Winneconne Elementary third graders.  This, all day fishing clinic could not have happened without the support of Learn 2 Fish With Us, Winneconne High School Fishing Team and the community.

The morning featured team member intros, a Fishing Basics seminar by Captain Karch which taught students on the skills and equipment needed to begin fishing.  After the seminar students attended three fishing educational stations that focused on fish identification, casting safely and accurately and knot tying!

During the afternoon all 150+ kids went fishing at Marble/Coughlin Park on a gorgeous weather day!  Although the fish didn’t bite for everyone, there was no shortage of smiles, laughter, casts, tangles, and most importantly fun had by everyone!

Thanks to the Winneconne High School Fishing Team that really did an awesome job in leadership and teaching roles today! Your positive interactions with the kids will leave lasting memories!  Thanks to all the parent volunteers that came out for the fishing, it was incredible to have all the help!  Big thanks to Critter’s Wolf River Sports for donating the bait and the National Professional Anglers Association for the Future Pro shirts!!  Lastly, hats off to Greg and Karen Karch Learn 2 Fish With Us program! This was his 402nd event where he has shared his love and passion for fishing with youth! Amazing! Thanks for sharing your program with Winneconne for the second straight year!
