This past Saturday, January 17th, Captain Greg attended the All Canada Show at the Brookfield Conference Center, where he presented his popular seminar “Walleye and Perch Canadian Style.” Anglers of all experience levels gathered to learn proven techniques for locating and catching two of Canada’s most sought-after fish species.
Captain Greg began the seminar by focusing on the importance of electronics when targeting Walleye and Perch. Attendees learned how modern electronics play a key role in finding fish-holding locations and understanding fish behavior. From reading sonar to identifying structure and transitions, Captain Greg explained how he uses electronics to increase success on the water.
The seminar then moved into jigging techniques, where Captain Greg covered a variety of approaches for different conditions. He discussed both live and artificial baits, sharing his go-to selections and how he rigs and presents them to trigger bites from finicky fish.
Next, Captain Greg explained how to effectively cover water using casting presentations and trolling tactics. Attendees learned when and why to use each method, along with the specific lures Captain Greg prefers when searching for active Walleye and Perch across large bodies of water.
To wrap up the seminar, Captain Greg covered crawler harnesses—an essential tool in any Walleye angler’s arsenal. He demonstrated how he ties his own crawler harnesses and explained how to properly fish them to maximize success.
The seminar provided attendees with practical, easy-to-apply information they can use on their next Canadian fishing adventure or on their local waters. Thank you to everyone who attended and made the All Canada Show another great event!
