On Tuesday, March 12th, it may have been a cold and windy day outside, but the excitement for fishing was strong inside as Learn 2 Fish With Us hosted a Fishing Basics program for the 3rd and 4th graders of Hilbert Elementary.
This marked the first time Learn 2 Fish With Us has hosted a program at Hilbert Elementary, making it a special day for both the students and the program. During the session, students learned about the skills and equipment needed to begin fishing, helping introduce them to a lifelong outdoor activity.
The morning session was filled with energy as students eagerly participated and asked great questions while learning the fundamentals of fishing. From understanding basic fishing equipment to learning the simple techniques needed to get started, the students were excited to discover how accessible and fun fishing can be.
Following the morning program at Hilbert, Captain Greg headed to Chilton Elementary for an afternoon session, continuing another busy day of sharing fishing knowledge with local youth.
Each student who participated in the program received a fishing education book and a Learn 2 Fish With Us fishing shirt, made possible thanks to the generous support of our incredible sponsors. These resources help students continue learning and stay excited about fishing long after the program ends.
Even though the weather outside wasn’t ideal, the enthusiasm inside the classroom proved that any day is a great day to learn how to fish. Learn 2 Fish With Us looks forward to continuing to work with Hilbert Elementary and inspiring more youth to discover the fun and adventure of fishing.
