The National Fishing Leadership Team has announced the 2026 Master Angling Instructor recognitions, and we are proud to share that Captain Greg Karch has been selected for this prestigious honor.

The Master Angling Instructor recognition is awarded each year to a select group of individuals who have demonstrated outstanding dedication to teaching fishing to Cub Scouts and Scouts. This recognition is reserved for instructors who have provided 10 or more continuous years of cheerful service, sharing their knowledge and passion for fishing while helping youth develop outdoor skills and confidence.

It is important to note that the Master Angling Instructor recognition is not simply an award earned by reaching a milestone of teaching for 10 years. Instead, it is a special honor bestowed by the National Fishing Leadership Team to individuals who have gone above and beyond in their commitment to youth fishing education and who are recognized as experts in one or more areas of fishing instruction.

Captain Greg’s work through fishing education programs, youth seminars, and hands-on instruction has helped introduce countless young anglers to the sport while teaching them the skills, safety, and conservation practices needed to enjoy fishing for a lifetime.
