White bass and walleye were running in Winneconne, and Learn 2 Fish With Us teamed up with the Winneconne High School Fishing Team for Winneconne’s Third Grade Fishing Day!
The day started early with the first group of third graders attending our Fishing Basics seminar, where they learned the skills and equipment needed to begin fishing. After the seminar, students rotated through hands-on stations including casting, knot tying, and fish identification. The second group of third graders attended the later morning session and enjoyed the same learning experience.
In the afternoon, it was time to hit the water! Each group had just over an hour to fish, and the action was steady with students catching bluegills, perch, walleye, and even a northern pike. The smiles, excitement, and enthusiasm throughout the day made this another unforgettable youth fishing event!
A huge thank you goes out to the Winneconne High School Fishing Team, Learn 2 Fish With Us volunteers, and the community for providing so many volunteers to help make this a fun and safe event for the youth.
