With this being Wisconsin’s Free Fishing Weekend, you know that Learn 2 Fish With Us had to be hosting an event somewhere in Wisconsin!
Today we were in Wausau, Wisconsin, at Bluegill Bay, where we partnered with the Wausau & Marathon County Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department to host a youth and family fishing program.
The event began with a Fishing Basics seminar where attendees learned the skills and equipment needed to begin fishing. Youth then rotated through hands-on fishing education stations that included casting, knot tying, fish identification, and how to rig a fishing combo and properly put bait on a hook.
After completing the stations, it was time to hit the water! While the bite was tough, many youth still caught their very first fish, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
A huge thank you goes out to all of our sponsors who made this event possible by providing fishing combos, shirts, fishing educational books, and bait that each youth received. Your support continues to help us introduce the next generation to the great sport of fishing!
