2013 High Cliff State Park Family Fishing Clinic

Yesterday I partnerd with High Cliff State Park to hold  a Family Fishing Clinic at High Cliff State Park.  What a great turnout of FAMILIES!!!  The event started out with me presenting my Fishing Basic seminar and then was followed by family fishing time.  After the fishing the …youth and parents came back for door prizes.  Navionics donated a Navionics + chart and was Jim excited to win it!!!  A big thanks to Shakespeare Fishing for fishing combos and educational books, Plano for tackle boxes and the National Professional Anglers Association for fishing combo’s and Future Angler shirts.  Each youth also went home with a tackle pack which included merchandise from Berkley Fishing, Northland Fishing Tackle, Tru-Turn hooks and more..  Thanks to The Reel Shot for providing bait.  Thanks to RJ Harwood and Karen Karch for helping out to make sure the event went smoothly!!  Thanks to Cindy from High Cliff State park and to Diane!!

2013 Farm Technology Days Fishing Clinic

This past week I attended 2013 Farm Technology Days in Barron, Wisconsin where I had an educational booth on fishing.  We worked with the kids on fish identification, knots and casting.  Almost every youth caught a backyard bass while casting.  I was on the Youth Stage twice where I presented my ‘Fishing Basics’ seminar.  We had over two thousand kids that went through the booth.

Walleye Fishing on Lake Winnebago is Hot!!!

Walleye fishing has been hot on Lake Winnebago!!  This week we took over twenty walleye over 21 inches and of those 5 were over 25 inches.  We were pitching Northland Gumball jigs with crawlers and did well.  One day we went out to the mud and trolled crawler harnesses in Northland #5 Fire Perch and Gold Fish and Big Eye Custom Lures Silver Dolphin.  Get out fishing is hot!!!

Huntn & Fishn Expo, Devil’s Lake State Park

This past weekend was Wisconsin’s free fishing weekend.  On Sunday I attended the 2013 Huntn & Fishn Expo at Devil’s Lake State Park in Baraboo, Wisconsin.  I presented my Fishing Basic seminar at 1 PM.  Prior to the seminar I helped families while fishing and worked with kids on casting utilizing Backyard Bass.  It was quit cold and windy in the morning so most of the kids spent time casting for Backyard Bass.  All the kids attending the event received a fishing or hunting prize!!!  There where over one hundred kids in attendance with just as many parents!!  Had a great time.  What a great organization and event.

Yahara Fishing Club Kids Fishing Day

This past weekend was Wisconsin’s free fishing weekend.  On Saturday I attended Yahara Fishing Club’s Kids Fishing Day at Warner Park in Madison, Wisconsin.   I presented my Fishing Basic seminar at 10 AM.  Prior to the clinic I helped families while fishing.  After the seminar I worked with kids on casting utilizing Backyard Bass.  The kids were so excited to be able to catch a fish on land.  All the kids attending the event received a fishing combo or a tackle box plus each youth went home with some great door prizes.  There where over four hundred kids in attendance with a couple hundred parents!!!!  What a great event!!!

2013 Kids Fishing Day / Huntn & Fishn Event

Saturday morning I will be at Warner Park in Madison, Wisconsin for the Yahara Fishing Clubs,  Kids Fishing Day which will start at 8 AM.  At 10 AM I will present my ‘Fishing Basics’ Seminar.  On Sunday I will be at Devil’s Lake State Park in Baraboo, Wisconsin for the Huntn & Fishn Kids event.  In the morning I willwork with the kids while they fish and then at 1 PM I will present my ‘Fishing Basics’ seminar.   Going to be a long but fun weekend!!!

Kaukauna Cub Scout Fishing Clinic

Yesterday I held my third fishing clinic within one week!!!  I’m beat.  This fishing clinic was for the Kaukauna Cub Scouts!!  We first met at St Abe’s where I presented my Fishing Basics seminar.  After the seminar we headed to 1000 Island…s where we did some fishing!!!  Many fish were caught including many ten inch crappie.  All the youth attending the event with home with fishing goodies.  Thanks to all my sponsors as together we are growing the great sport of fishing!!!!

Maplewood Middle School Fishing Event

Yesterday we held a fishing clinic at Maplewood Middle School in Menasha, Wisconsin. The cool thing about this clinic was that each of the youth and families attended eight stations where they learned everything from Satey, open/closed fish…ing combos, casting, bait, knots, fishing presentations, musky fishing, aquatic invasive species and more!!! For this clinic I partnered with the City Of Menasha School District, Heckrodt Nature Preseve and Park and Rec department. This event was a huge success due to all the anglers that came a taught the familes on fishing and to all my great sponsors!!!

Woman’s Walleye Weekend and the NPAA

This past Saturday evening I attended the Woman’s Walleye Weekend dinner where I talked to the woman about the National Professional Anglers Association.  I reviewed the goal of the NPAA to Preserve and Protect our great sport of fishing in a professional manner.  I explained all the good the NPAA is doing to promote fishing to future anglers and the benefits they receive being a member.
